European freight ferry ticket agent Freightlink shared the news about the significant decrease in P&O’s Europoort, Rotterdam – Teesport service last week via Facebook.

The route won’t be closed down, although the number of weekly services will be significantly reduced due to the loss of one vessel. Instead of the six sailings a week, P&O now offers two services a week in both directions.

NI Ferry Site writes that the future of the Teesport service is questionable due to the costs of having such a limited service to the port.

According to the ferry industry media outlet, the departure of the Estradenve is the reason why the number of the Teesport – Rotterdam Europoort services has been seriously decreased. After its last journey with P&O, the ferry is going off-hire and leaving the fleet on Wednesday 25 January 2023.

In an attempt to reduce costs, P&O Ferries has said goodbye to three charters this month with the departure of Estraden, adds NI Ferry Site.
