Hampshire police appeal for witnesses in fatal lorry crash at Red Funnel Port

The 40-year-old driver, hailing from Bournemouth, was travelling on the A33 when the accident occurred on Thursday morning. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the man succumbed to his injuries, according to the Hampshire Constabulary. The police were alerted to the collision at approximately 05:45 BST. The HGV had just emerged from the Red Funnel ferry terminal when it collided with the traffic lights. Authorities subsequently closed the road for several hours to investigate the incident. The Hampshire Constabulary has issued an appeal for witnesses and individuals possessing dashcam footage to step forward. The police force is keen to gather any additional information that might shed light on the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident. In an official statement, the Hampshire police urged the public's assistance, saying:
“We are now asking for anyone with information about the collision who has not already spoken to the police to come forward. Were you in the area at the time? Perhaps you saw a white HGV leaving the Red Funnel Port in the run-up to the collision? We would particularly like to speak to anyone with relevant dashcam footage.”
