Gloucestershire Police investigating “unexplained” death of HGV driver at lorry park

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Constabulary has confirmed that officers are investigating the “unexplained" death of a lorry driver after a HGV fire at William Gilder's Teddington facility.

According to Gloucestershire Live, a HGV driver in his forties was found dead in the cab of his lorry in the early hours of Thursday, March 16th.

Police have confirmed that a HGV had caught fire at the lorry park and that the death of the driver was being “treated as unexplained”.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Constabulary told Gloucestershire Live:

“Police were called around 1.30am on Thursday, March 16 with a report a HGV was on fire on Evesham Road, near to the Teddington Hands roundabout near Tewkesbury. Emergency services attended and a man aged in his 40s was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin has been informed. The death is being treated as unexplained and a police investigation is ongoing to establish what took place, and officers are liaising with the Health and Safety Executive.”
