DB Schenker truck drivers offered discount on stays at container-based hotels

German microhotel provider Roatel and logistics service provider DB Schenker have launched a benefits programme for professional drivers. The deal offers DB Schenker's partner companies the opportunity to book overnight stays at Roatel at a discounted rate of €49 per night.

The programme is designed to help professional drivers make the most of their rest periods so they can perform their duties rested and refreshed.

As we have earlier reported, Roatel’s micro-hotels are located near motorways and in close proximity to truck parking areas.

They are sound- and heat-insulated and have an electric air-conditioning unit with heating, a bed, a private bathroom with shower and toilet, towels and free Wi-Fi and satellite TV. However, there are no cooking facilities in the rooms.

To book at the discounted rate, DB Schenker partner companies must be registered on the Carrier Manager platform and enter the partner code. The lowest price is always guaranteed during discount promotions.

“We are committed to providing our drivers with the best possible working conditions,” said DB Schenker CEO Jochen Thewes. “This benefits programme is a further step in that direction.”
