The Coventry strike, affecting more than a thousand GMB members, continues today and tomorrow, with a planned escalation on Black Friday, set for 24 November. Rachel Fagan, GMB Organiser, emphasized the significance of this historic moment, as low-paid workers take on one of the world’s most powerful corporations.

“This action will bring the total days lost at Amazon to strike action to nearly 30,” Fagan stated, highlighting the growing momentum of industrial action against the e-commerce giant.

The GMB is now extending its reach to Amazon’s Birmingham centre, launching a new strike vote.

“With a winter of strike chaos looming, it’s time for Amazon bosses to urgently listen to their workers,” Fagan urged.

The union is pushing for the concerns and demands of the workers to be addressed, emphasizing the determination of the employees to stand up against what they perceive as unjust working conditions.
